Christmas 2020 - Celebrations and Community Spirit
Thursday 28th January 2021While we weren’t able to celebrate Christmas in our normal Oakwood way, we managed to continue with many of our celebrations and ended the Michaelmas Term all feeling really jolly and full of Christmas cheer. Our year groups had Christmas parties and classrooms were decorated. Year 5 amused all with their Cinderella Panto and the entire Pre-Prep delighted us with their Nativity performances. We were disappointed not to be able to have audiences for our performances but glad to be able to share them online for our families.
FOO class reps and parents organised beautiful year group hampers for a very successful raffle raising funds for the school. The office staff had great fun calling the winning number to find out who the lucky prize winner of the day was.
Father Christmas found time to come and visit our pupils and we made sure our Outdoor Classroom was suitably comfortable for him.
We were very sad not to be able to invite our Community Christmas friends to Oakwood this year to share Christmas Day lunch with us. We had wonderful doorstep visits with many of them to give them a hamper of gifts with donations from school families. We wanted to ensure that these dear people knew how much we would miss spending the day with them.
As always our pupils delighted us with their enthusiasm for school life and their community spirit.
