What qualities are important for a teacher?
Excitement, Patience, Consistency, Inspiration.

What are the best ways to encourage and motivate children?
House points, thousands and thousands of house points… also giving them ownership and an understanding of how they learn, getting them excited about the ‘lightbulb’ moments they achieve.

As well as teaching, what other activities and roles do you get involved in at the school?
Minecraft club and hanging out in the ‘Hub’ chatting to pupils.

What do you think makes Oakwood special?
We help all pupils to grow and develop in an environment where they are well known, well supported and able to take hold of their own learning.

Tell us about someone or something that inspires you?
My wife.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at school?
Playing electric guitar, participating in a variety of sports, hiking in mountains, eating bacon sandwiches, enjoying family walks that end up at a pub for lunch.
