What qualities do you think are important for a teacher?
Kindness, understanding, empathy and good organisation.
What are the best ways to encourage and motivate children?
I believe that happy children thrive! It is important that they find their learning exciting and engaging which, in turn, gives them the tools to face any challenges. It is important to celebrate the children’s achievements both in and out of school. Children benefit from regular praise and visual rewards such as house points and credits.

David Attenborough and his incredible focus on nature.
What is your favourite time of year at Oakwood?
Summer! Residential trips, outdoor learning and play, the Year 6 play and so much more!
What would you do if you weren’t a teacher?
I’d be a physiotherapist as it would feed my love of biology.
